RAPIDS
Road To The Regional Championship

It all started as three friends wanting to do something together over the weekend. So, since we all love soccer, we convinced our parents to sign us up as a team for the Kick It 3V3 Soccer Tournament here in Cary.

We named our team Rapids, decided that we were going to wear whatever red shirts we had at home and went to play soccer.

The first couple of games were the thoughest because we had never played together as a three player team.

So, we lost the first game 11 to 8.

But we did better the second game, we only lost 5 to 4 :)

By the third game we finally figured out what we were doing wrong and how to fix it.

We not only started scoring goals, but were able to finally stop the other team from scoring too many goals against us. We played hard the whole game and won 12 to 4.

But still, we were kind of sad we did not do better in the tournament and were ready to play the consolation game the following day.

The following day S U R P R I S E !

Because we scored so many goals during our third game; together with some other teams not doing so well, we qualified by 1 point to the Semi-Finals as the last wildcard team!!!

We played hard, the first seeded team also played hard and the game ended in a 3 - 3 tie.

But during over-time, we scored first (golden goal rule) and we made it to the finals!

We got lucky before, when we made it to the semi-finals, and we were not counting on getting lucky again.

For the final game, we were ready to play harder than ever, every minute we were on the field. So we did, and it did pay off.

We won the final game 12 goals to 1!

After the final game we went to visit with the Railhawks mascot.
